My long rant on why Drop the World was devastating to me as an Eclare shipper and a Degrassi fan
For a long time, Spinner Mason was my favorite Degrassi character. Then, he married Emma (though I pretend that didn’t happen) and left the show.
The only other character who I love nearly as much is Clare Edwards.
And then Drop the World happened.
And no, I’m not mad at Clare for dumping Eli because OMG MUNRO CHAMBERS IS SO HOT. And though I am completely and utterly heartbroken about it, I’m not even mad that they broke up.
I’m mad because the manner in which they broke up required destroying Clare’s character that I have grown to love over the past three seasons.

The writers messed this up so bad. I’m so angry. I don’t even have the words, and I’m usually pretty good with them.
I’m not giving up hope on Eclare, I am rooting for them, both as people and as a couple.
Let’s all just remember than Munro said that “the saga of Eclare is far from over.”
I just hope those who loved Eclare don’t decide to go ship Eli with whomever he ends up with simply because OMG MUNRO IS SO SEXY.
THAT will make me want to leave the fandom.
Let’s all just hug it out, guys. And perhaps send letters to a certain studio by the name of Epitome?
